Metrosexuality Gone Mad....

I was debating on whether or not to call it "Metrosexuality on Estrogen", but the title I chose won out.

Okay, I'm as open minded a female as you'd be lucky enough to find, (okay...within limits-- don't read too much into that!!), and love the "metrosexual male". Hell, if you aren't into grooming yourself, I absolutely WILL NOT date you. Period! But this outfit here...well...damn. I don't know exactly how I'd feel if you showed up at my door to take me out wearing this. I mean... I love when certain men have enough balls to wear pink AND can carry it off, but there are more than just a few problems here according to my eye....

One question I have is whether or not Brook Brothers on some type of hallucinogenic drug at the moment? I mean, this ad is serious and not a joke, right? And, be honest, you manly metrosexual men.... would you really wear this? Ever?? I think this one calls for a poll! Let me know the truth!! How many of you would buy this pastel influenced 'ahem' piece of fashion? I really want to know! Do tell! And ladies, do you think this is a bit on the girly side or is it okay? What if your man wore this? And feel free to set me straight if you think I'm still living in the dark ages on this... I swear, I just don't know!!! ;)

Please take the poll, and then comment if you feel so inclined. Thank you!

I think wearing pink is fine as colors do not have gender. But in this case, the color combination is too much and the pink blazer exaggerated the fashion. So I WON'T WEAR IT! :)

Hell no.

I admit to wearing pink(salmon) polo shirts in the 80's.

But I never would have added the rest of the ensemble. It was pink polo shirt, 501 jeans, flipflops, white tennies. Oh, yea and the short short 'huggies'(?) shorts. But they were not 'metro'. Thomas Magnum wore em!

PLU!

Oh GAWD! If a guy showed up at my door like that, I'd send him home to put on jeans and a tee shirt STAT.

I hear ya, Janiss! I mean, if we're about to sit down and have a tea party with tiny little cups and saucers and those tiny sandwiches with no crust, then he is properly attired! ;)

Pastels and pinks on a man can be done tastefully, sure, but not this time around! LOL!

pink is in, man. it looks good on both men and women

I'm LOLing so hard, picturing my guy wearing that mess. Macho guys can't carry that off. It's such faggy look which really only works well for the 'mos. And more power to 'em!

The pink cardigan looks cool, but the rest of the outfit is a complete joke...

i do think that there are no specific colors for each gender. but it was the combination that gave way. poor fashion sense, i say.

Mariuca June 20, 2010 at 2:58 PM

This is just way too girly it isn't even funny! ;)

oh, hell I wouldn't wear that - a guy? Nah, not one with any sense of style or good taste. Maybe someone from Ringling Brothers???? You know, a clown?

I'm gay but I wouldn't wear that, ha! The different colors are just TOO much.

The Fitness Diva June 21, 2010 at 5:16 PM

LOL, GayGuy. I agree that this really is just bad fashion! I'm sure the model had to keep a straight face when they asked him to put it on! ;)

Grace, yes, it's a bit clowny. Makes me think of cotton candy, actually! ;)

I think so too, bing. Poor fashion sense, indeed

Acupuncture, I have no problem with wearing pink. Like Fledgling Blogger said, color really has no gender, especially these days. It's just the collusion of all those pastel colors together that makes it reek! lol!

The Fitness Diva June 21, 2010 at 5:25 PM

June, I'm trying to picture the pink sweater on you...NOT! LOL! The entire outfit is just a bit too much. I'm just wondering what their ad people were thinking? lol

Don, I love all pastel colors. Salmon is a great one. Yes, I remember those Magnum shorts!! lol!

Janiss, if a guy showed up wearing that at my door, I'd send him home, too! lol. Especially if we're supposed to be going out somewhere. Oh hell no! :D

imelda, pink looks good on both, but I think it's the girls little sweater that ruins it here. Not to mention the shocking neon lime green.

vange, please buy this for Acadia! Make him take lots of pictures in it, too! :D

The Fitness Diva June 21, 2010 at 5:37 PM

william, I like the pink sweater, too. But not for my guy! lol
But, certain men could carry it off...just not all. Depends on the type of guy. A Ving Rhames or Vin Diesel would look ridiculous in it.
Imagine Sean Connery as 007 in this getup. uh uh! Tom Cruise would look absolutely ridiculous in this! Ok, I really am laughing picturing that!!! OMG!
I'm not sure who would really look good in in, but it really is a narrow field!

Mariuca, I agree. Looks like time for a tea party with our dolls! :D

Evergreen, crazy for sure. It's funny when you try to picture men you know wearing it. Try it! You will die! :D

Express Yourself, this is expressing yourself a bit TOO colorfully, I'd say! LOL! haaa
I'm trying to think of how you could improve the outfit, and to me, taking off the pink sweater would make it not so bad....

Connie June 21, 2010 at 9:32 PM

Well the pink is not working for him plus he has too many bright colors on (tacky). Certain shades of pink work well on certain men but that is not why I decided to leave a message - I keep coming back for the "eye candy" ;o)

Pink, blue and green are preppy colors meant for women but now with guys wearing those colors, it seems kinda wrong.

MMA Conditioning June 30, 2010 at 3:29 PM

This is absolutely terrible. What has happened to men lately? Wow.

Sharon July 12, 2010 at 6:54 PM

A pink shirt is fine once in awhile, but guys shouldn't wear pastels.
